Welcome to DD Market (“we,” “us,” “the Market”). By using this website, purchasing a ticket, or downloading materials, you agree to these terms.

1. What we are

DD Market is an online marketplace where independent creators (“vendors”) share their work with readers who purchase access via a ticket.

2. Accounts

To purchase a ticket and access vendor downloads, you need an account. You are responsible for keeping your password private and for any activity on your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, contact us so we can help secure it.

You must be at least 18 years old or a legal adult in your jurisdiction to create an account.

3. Tickets and Access

A “Market Ticket” purchase grants you access to download all vendor files available during the Market period of May 19th to July 19th. Your access is tied to your account and is not transferable.

If your order is cancelled, refunded, or reversed for any reason, your access to vendor downloads ends.

4. Refunds

All sales are final. We do not offer refunds on Market Ticket purchases. By completing your purchase, you acknowledge and accept this policy.

5. Vendor Content

Files provided by vendors are for your personal use only. You may not:

  • Share, repost, or redistribute vendor files publicly or privately
  • Use vendor work commercially without explicit permission from the vendor
  • Modify or republish vendor content as your own

All vendor work remains the intellectual property of the individual vendors. Buying a ticket grants you a personal license to view and enjoy the work, not ownership or distribution rights of it.

6. Your Conduct

Don’t use the Market to:

  • Harass vendors, staff, or other customers
  • Distribute malware or attempt to break the site
  • Scrape or automate downloads
  • Misrepresent yourself

We reserve the right to suspend or remove accounts that violate these rules.

7. Disclaimers

The Market is provided “as is.” We do our best to keep the site running and downloads working, but we don’t guarantee uptime or that every file will be perfect.

Vendor content reflects the views of individual vendors, not DD Market.

8. Liability

To the extent allowed by law, DD Market and its affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for your ticket.

9. Changes

We may update these terms occasionally. Changes take effect when posted. If you keep using the site after changes, you accept the updated terms.

Our Privacy Policy

DD Market Staff (“we,” “us”) respect your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we do with it.

What we collect

When you use the Market, we collect:

  • Account info: name, email address, and password (stored encrypted)
  • Order info: what you bought and when
  • Payment info: handled by your processor, we never see or store your credit card details
  • Technical info: your IP address, browser type, and pages you visit, via standard server logs
  • Anything you submit: comments, support messages, etc.

For vendors, we additionally store the materials they’ve uploaded for the Market.

How We Use It

  • To run the Market: create your account, process your order, deliver downloads, and provide support
  • To communicate with you about your account, order, or the Market itself
  • To keep the site secure (e.g. block abuse, debug issues)
  • To comply with legal requirements (tax records, etc.)

We don’t sell your data. We don’t share it for advertising. We don’t run targeted ads.

Who Else Sees Your Data

Third-party services we use to run the Market:

  • Payment Processors: process your payment. Privacy policies differ depending on the one you select at checkout. Please refer to the processor you have used or are thinking of using for their specific privacy policies.
  • Postmark: sends transactional emails (account confirmations, password resets). Their privacy policy: https://postmarkapp.com/privacy-policy
  • NearlyFreeSpeech.NET: hosts our website. Their privacy policy: https://www.nearlyfreespeech.net/about/privacy

These services only see the minimum data they need to do their job.

Cookies

We use cookies to:

  • Keep you logged in
  • Remember your cart
  • Improve site performance

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the Market won’t work without them.

Your Rights

You can:

  • View and update your account info at any time by logging in
  • Request a copy of your data
  • Request that we delete your account and associated data

If you’re in the EU, UK, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR, UK-GDPR, and CCPA respectively. Contact us if you want to exercise them.

Data Retention

We wipe data yearly automatically after each market has concluded. If you ask us to delete your account before that period, we will remove your personal data within one week, except for what we are legally required to keep or need to preserve the functionality of the website.

Adults Only

The Market is intended for users 18 and older or otherwise an adult in their jurisdiction. If we learn a user is not an adult, we will close the account and delete the data.

Changes

We may update this policy occasionally. Changes take effect when posted. Significant changes will be announced via email or a notice on the site.
